HCR – Website Redesign & UX/UI Enhancement

Hanalei Colony Resort is a well-established hospitality brand that approached us with an existing website that needed a complete design refresh. While the structure of the site was functional, the overall user experience felt outdated, and the interface didn’t reflect the brand’s full potential.

We began by performing a UX audit to identify the areas where users were facing friction. The booking process was not intuitive, the layout was cluttered, and users had to click through multiple pages to get the information they needed. Our goal was to simplify the experience, reduce steps, and bring a clean, professional look to the platform.

One of the major highlights of this redesign was the improvement of the search engine functionality. We streamlined the search bar to allow users to quickly find rooms based on location, dates, and preferences. The booking flow was redesigned to be smoother, with clear call-to-actions, and a minimal yet elegant interface.

We also restructured content sections, making it easier to browse room options, view amenities, and explore nearby attractions. The updated visuals, combined with better spacing, typography, and color use, gave the site a refreshed identity that feels both trustworthy and modern.

The Outcome:

The new design helped streamline the booking journey and create a consistent brand image across all three hostels. Users were able to find and compare hostels more easily, resulting in higher engagement across the website. The simplified booking process led to faster decision-making and increased user satisfaction. After the redesign, the brand reported improved booking efficiency, greater mobile usability, and a noticeable rise in positive guest feedback.
